After PUBG Mobile, TikTok can return to India

Until a few months ago, young and old in India had fun on the short video making app TikTok. On the other hand, there was a huge frenzy among the younger generation about the Battle-Royal game PUBG Mobile. But with the deterioration of political relations between India and China last June, this familiar equation has completely changed! Despite their huge popularity, these two apps have been banned by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting of the Government of India. However, two or three days ago, during the Diwali festival, the PUBG authorities officially announced that the mobile game will soon return to India after overcoming all restrictions. Naturally, new excitement has appeared in the minds of game lovers. Meanwhile, speculation has been rife since the news of PUBG Mobile’s return to India – TikTok, a video-making platform owned by ByteDance, will return.

According to reports, Tiktok India spokesperson Nikhil Gandhi recently emailed all the employees of the company saying that they are trying their best to bring Tiktok back to India. Nikhil claims that talks are underway with the government in this regard. He said TickTock has done its best to address all concerns about the privacy and security of users’ information and to comply with the country’s technology laws. Now the company is hoping for positive results.

Nikhil also said that the company has given the people of India the opportunity to use a fun platform as well as the local people to earn a living. And so, even after the ban, BiteDance, the parent company of Tiktak, did not lay off Indian employees. TickTock currently has about 2,000 employees in India and the company has also given them special bonuses.

However, it is still unclear whether Tiktak will return in the coming days like Pubji Mobile or when it will return. Now the TickTock team is making various efforts to lift the ban in India. After the ban in June, it was rumored that ByteDance could join hands with Reliance Jio and Airtel, two of the country’s top telecom companies, to hold on to the Indian market. But even after the day was over, no specific information came to light.

Meanwhile, many alternative applications of Tiktak have already come in the market. Even the social media app Instagram or video streaming platform ZEE5 brings the option to create videos with special effects. So it remains to be seen whether Tiktak will be able to overcome all obstacles in the days to come.
