The new collage design can be seen in the Recent Highlights option of Google Photos

A few days ago, Google announced a new policy for the Google Photos service. This time the tech giant company has come up with a new feature for this gallery app. Photos or videos can be saved and edited in the Google Photos app. However, Google has recently launched a new Collage Designs for Photos which will be displayed in the Recent Highlights option. The rollout of this new update has started since the beginning of last week.

Old photos can be seen in the carousel at the top of Google Photos, it looks a lot like the Instagram Story interface. On the other hand, in the ‘Recent Highlights’ section, users can see the ‘best’ image among their newly captured images. Interestingly, photos taken on the same day or at the same event in this section will be merged into a collage after the new update. For now, two options – standard and general – can be used for collages.

Also, Google Photos features a blackboard-style design with a chalk border for the collage. According to Google, several new collage designs can be used in this update. According to the portal Android Police, one of the designs will have a floral background, a tipstar has claimed. These new collage designs are just beginning to roll out so it is not yet clear exactly how many designs can be used.
In this case, users can check the Recent Highlights tab of their Google Photos app.

Meanwhile, Google has announced that from the first day of next year, i.e. from January 1, 2021, users will not be able to use the free backup storage in the Google Photos app. Users will be able to use only 15 GB of storage for free, it will cost some money to save more photos than the specified limit. Google also said that it would cost money or a subscription to use some of the editing features of Google Photos. This decision upset many users. It is believed that the American company has introduced a new collage design to make the users happy.
