Political relations between India and China have deteriorated since tensions on the Galvan border erupted last June. After that the common people of India turned away from various products of China. But Chinese smartphone companies, which account for about 75% of the Indian smartphone market, are by no means willing to lose the trust of Indian consumers. This is exactly why popular smartphone brands like Xiaomi, Realme, Vivo have been assembling multiple phones in India over the past few months or making new devices in Indian factories. Manufacturers have been claiming that these phones are ‘Made in India’.

We know that shortly before the boycott of China, popular smartphone company Vivo launched the new ‘Make in India’ logo and expressed their desire to invest and produce in India. The company then took several steps following the Government of India’s ‘Vocal for Local’ or ‘Make in India’ program. According to a recent report, Vivo is set to launch a new smartphone in India soon, focusing on its ‘Make in India’ program.

Recently, Vivo India Director Nipun Meraya said that Vivo will continue its ‘Make in India’ initiative. Under the project, the company is reportedly working in an Indian factory to make a new smartphone called the Vivo V20 SE in an Indian way. Nipun Meraya said the company’s Greater Noida unit has about 10,000 Indian employees.

Meraya also said that the market in Rajasthan is very important for Vivo’s business. Only in this region does the company have 8% stake. Besides, Vivo has a network of more than 4,000 retail stores and more than 50 specialty stores in Rajasthan.

In this context, the company launched its V20 series V20 SE phone in the Indian market on November 2. In September, this phone was first launched in the Malaysian market. The phone has a Snapdragon 85 processor, a 4,100 mAh battery with 33 watts fast charging, and a 32 megapixel selfie camera. This phone is priced at Rs 20,990. However, if it is made in an Indian factory, the manufacturer may reduce the price of the phone in the coming days.
