When you want to turn on the smart lights of the house, schedule it with Google Assistant

As technology has advanced, our lives have become easier. Especially with the discovery of smart home products, it is possible to do a lot of things in daily life with verbal instructions. Just like Aladdin’s gene! Google Assistant is one such gift of modern technology. If you give any instructions to Google Assistant, they will follow it immediately. Now Google has brought the ‘Scheduled Actions’ feature for their smart home products using this voice assistant. This allows you to schedule commands for any of your smart home devices in advance. Let’s learn more about this feature.

Scheduled Actions feature

The scheduled action feature allows users to instruct Google Assistant for their smart home products in advance. He will then be able to choose the date and time at which he wants to follow the instruction. Google will follow that instruction when the time comes. Suppose you simply say “Hey Google, turn on the lights in five minutes” or “Hey Google, turn off the lights at 7 AM.” Google will turn on the lights at the specified time. It’s just as easy to use Google’s scheduled action feature.

Instructions can be made for any day within the next seven days, not just the day in question or the day after. For example, you could say, “Hey Google, turn on my coffee maker at 8 AM tomorrow” or “Hey Google, run my sprinkler in a week at 5 PM.”

Ways to cancel Scheduled Actions

Google will also have the opportunity to cancel your scheduled instructions. All you have to do is say, “Hey Google, cancel my Scheduled Actions” or “Hey Google, remove my s Schedule.” If you say so, your scheduled instruction will be canceled.

According to Google’s support page, customers will be able to cancel scheduled actions at will. With a list of scheduled actions, Google will verify from customers which actions they want to cancel. Of course, for those who have already used the feature, the whole process of canceling is not very smooth.

Google also made it clear on its support page that Google Assistant is not yet ready to recognize time-bound ads (e.g., tomorrow or next week). This is why it is best to specify a specific day or time when scheduling an instruction in advance. If customers do not specify a specific time, Google will alert the user by sending an ‘error’ message.
